There are no requirements as to when the material was written. However, a writer who has earned money professionally as a writer is not eligible.Īll persons from anywhere in the world are eligible however the material submitted must be in English.Īll material submitted, but not a winner of other competitions or contests are eligible. It is recommended that original material be registered with the WGA or The Library of Congress before submitting to any competition, however we do not require registration.Īll ownership and rights to the scripts submitted to this contest remains with the original rights holders.Īll writers at least 18 years of age are eligible. Please proofread your script very carefully before submitting. Substitutions of either corrected pages or new drafts of the entered material are not allowed. Each team is responsible for dividing or sharing the prize money. If a writing team is chosen as a winner, prizes will be given to the person who submits the project. All writers must be credited on title page. Material written by writing teams must be submitted by one of the writers, with consent of the other(s). There is no limit to the number of projects you may submit, but each project submitted must hit the current theme of the film festival.Īll submitted material must be original, and all rights must be wholly owned by the writer(s). Scripts that have been sold, produced, or are currently optioned are not eligible, nor are scripts that have previously won a prize at other screenwriting contests. (if project is produced, screened at the festival and/or developed into a feature length film). * Inclusion in story development session, production meetings and entry into film subsequent contest(s). Winners will receive story evaluation services, crowdfunding planning assistance and pre-production services, including script packaging assistance for production. * First Draft rewards include proofreading, revision coaching, plot evaluation, market report, development notes and discounted marketing & editing services. These entries will also include treatment feedback, editing, market report and receive discounted first draft coaching services. * Story treatment rewards include plot mapping, character development, plot point assessment and overall story evaluation. * Log line entry rewards include evaluation, feedback, editing, market report and receive discounted story planning services. The prizes are assigned based on the category in which you have submitted your entry.
